Examples

Complete resumes, with the reasoning shown.

Most resume examples are a picture of a document and a list of adjectives. These are the whole thing: every bullet, plus a breakdown of which decisions were deliberate and what a hiring manager in that field is checking for. You can open any of them in the editor, replace the content with yours, and download the PDF without paying or signing up.

These are written examples, not real applications. Nobody can honestly tell you a sample resume “got someone hired at Google”, so the pages argue from what the format has to accomplish instead.

Daniel Reyes
Backend Software Engineer
daniel.reyes@example.com · (206) 555-0173 · Seattle, WA · github.com/danreyes · linkedin.com/in/danielreyes
Summary

Backend engineer, 6 years, mostly on payments and other systems where being wrong is expensive. Comfortable owning a service from design doc through on-call rotation. Most useful on teams that have outgrown their first architecture and need someone to migrate it without a maintenance window.

Experience
Software Engineer II
Jan 2023 – Present
Larkfield Payments · Seattle, WA
  • Cut p99 checkout latency from 1.9s to 340ms by replacing a synchronous fan-out to four services with a Kafka queue and an idempotent settlement worker.
  • Led the migration of 60+ endpoints from a Rails monolith to Go services over 9 months, with no scheduled downtime and no rollback; wrote the design doc and the cutover runbook the team reused for two later migrations.
  • Built the reconciliation job that catches settlement mismatches within an hour instead of at month-end close, which turned a recurring finance escalation into a dashboard.
  • Reduced pager volume for our rotation by roughly 40% by fixing the three alert classes responsible for most of it, rather than raising the thresholds.
  • Reviewed most of the team's payment-path pull requests and mentored two engineers through their first service launches.
Software Engineer
Jun 2020 – Dec 2022
Bellwether Logistics · Seattle, WA
  • Designed and shipped the carrier-rate API used by all four customer-facing products, replacing three separate integrations that had drifted out of sync.
  • Moved the deployment pipeline from hand-run scripts to GitHub Actions with staged rollouts, taking release time from about 2 hours of babysitting to 12 minutes unattended.
  • Added structured logging and tracing across the order pipeline, which is how a long-standing duplicate-shipment bug was finally located and fixed.
Junior Developer
Aug 2019 – May 2020
Cascade Civic Tech · Portland, OR
  • Built the public records search backend for a city transparency portal serving about 30,000 monthly queries.
  • Wrote the test suite for the permits module, taking coverage of that module from near zero to 78%.

Summary

Project manager with 9 years in regulated healthcare environments, currently running a $14M portfolio across clinical and engineering teams. Most of my useful experience is in projects that were already in trouble when I got them. PMP certified, comfortable with both stage-gate governance and teams that would rather not have any.

Experience
Senior Project Manager
Apr 2022 – Present
Meridian Health Systems · Boston, MA
  • Portfolio: 6 concurrent projects, $14M combined budget, 40+ contributors across engineering, clinical and vendor teams.

  • Ran the EHR module rollout across 11 clinics with staggered go-lives, holding unplanned downtime to under 4 hours total against a 20-hour tolerance.
  • Replaced a 30-page monthly status pack with a one-page dashboard the steering committee actually reads, which moved decisions from the monthly meeting to the week they were needed.
  • 19 of 22 projects delivered within the approved schedule; the three that slipped were re-baselined with the sponsor before the original date, not after.
Project Manager
Jun 2019 – Mar 2022
Northgate Medical Devices · Cambridge, MA
  • Managed 3–4 concurrent product development projects, $1.5M–$4M each, under FDA design-control documentation requirements.

Summary

Executive assistant, 7 years, currently supporting a COO and three vice presidents at a 400-person company. • Prepare the quarterly board packet with the finance team — 60 to 80 pages, four contributors, and a fixed deadline that has not slipped in 14 quarters.
  • Replaced the paper expense process with Expensify for 40 staff; reimbursement time went from about 5 weeks to 8 days.

Summary

Account executive, 5 years, mid-market manufacturing software. Average deal $42K on a 4-month cycle, selling to VP Operations and Finance. Self-source most of my pipeline, which is the part of the job I am actually good at; I have carried quota every year including the one I missed.

Experience
Account Executive
Feb 2023 – Present
Rowan Industrial Software · Milwaukee, WI
  • 2025: 112% of a $1.4M quota, 3rd of 14 reps. 2024: 96% of $1.2M after the territory was split in Q2 and two named accounts moved to enterprise.
  • Average deal $42K, 4-month cycle, sold to VP Operations and Finance at 200–2,000 employee manufacturers.
  • Self-sourced 60% of closed-won revenue; the rest came from inbound and partner referrals.
  • Closed the largest deal in the mid-market team's history at $310K, an 11-month cycle with a plant pilot and three separate finance reviews.
  • Rebuilt the discovery script the team uses after tracking which questions actually predicted a closed deal; ramp time for the two reps hired after that went from about 6 months to 4.
Sales Development Representative, then Junior AE
Jul 2020 – Jan 2023
Fairhaven Logistics Tech · Chicago, IL
  • As SDR: averaged 18 qualified meetings a month against a 12 target, and held the highest meeting-to-opportunity rate on a team of 9.
  • Promoted to junior AE after 14 months; closed $640K in year one against a $600K quota, all new logos under $25K.

Tobias Lindqvist
Data Analyst
tobias.lindqvist@example.com · (773) 555-0164 · Chicago, IL · linkedin.com/in/tobiaslindqvist · tlindqvist.github.io
Summary

Data analyst, 3 years, mostly subscription businesses. I am most useful on the questions that sit between product and finance, where the answer depends on how you define the metric and someone has to argue for a definition. Comfortable owning a question from the stakeholder conversation through to the readout.

Experience
Data Analyst
Feb 2024 – Present
Fernbrook Software · Chicago, IL
  • Found that 23% of churned accounts had never used the feature onboarding was built around, which redirected the Q3 roadmap toward a use case the team had treated as secondary.
  • Rebuilt the weekly revenue report the sales leadership team had stopped trusting after two reconciliation errors; moved it into dbt with tested definitions, and it has run without a correction for 14 months.
  • Designed the measurement plan for 9 pricing experiments, including the two that were stopped early because the guardrail metric moved the wrong way.
  • Built the self-serve cohort dashboard now used by 30+ people across product and CS, which cut ad-hoc retention requests to the analytics team by roughly two thirds.
Junior Analyst
Aug 2022 – Jan 2024
Halsted Retail Group · Chicago, IL
  • Owned daily and weekly sales reporting for 40 stores, replacing a set of manual workbooks with a single scheduled pipeline.
  • Analysed the loyalty programme's second year and showed that most of the incremental revenue came from one tier, which led to the other two being restructured.
  • Cleaned and merged 6 years of point-of-sale data across two systems from a prior acquisition, which was the prerequisite for any of the above being possible.

Summary

Three years of high-volume customer-facing work across retail and restaurants, most recently at a service desk handling returns, complaints and refund decisions. Summary

Product manager, 6 years, working on the part of the product where people either succeed in the first week or leave. Own onboarding and billing at a B2B SaaS company. I am better at killing things than most PMs and I think that is the part of the job that compounds.

Experience
Product Manager, Growth
Aug 2022 – Present
Halden Software · New York, NY
  • Own the onboarding and billing surfaces with 7 engineers, a designer, and a shared data analyst.
  • Prioritised fixing the import flow over the integrations customers kept asking for, because 40% of trials were dying at import; trial-to-paid rose from 11% to 19% over two quarters and has held.
  • Killed the workspace-templates project after the second usability round; roughly 6 engineer-weeks spent, and the pattern it disproved changed how we scoped the next two features.
  • Ran 23 customer interviews before the billing rebuild and cut the planned scope in half as a result; the reduced version shipped 5 weeks early with no increase in billing support tickets.
  • Built the activation dashboard the leadership team now uses in weekly review, which replaced an argument about which signup number was correct.

Northgate Learning · New York, NY
  • Owned the instructor-facing course builder used by about 4,000 instructors, working with 4 engineers.

Samuel Oyelaran
Business Analyst · Insurance Operations
samuel.oyelaran@example.com · (469) 555-0198 · Dallas, TX · linkedin.com/in/samueloyelaran
Summary

Process and systems analyst — requirements, process redesign and the reporting that proves whether the redesign worked. Five years in insurance operations, mostly claims and policy administration. Most of my work has involved persuading teams to give up a step they were attached to.

Experience
Senior Business Analyst
May 2023 – Present
Trinity Mutual Insurance · Dallas, TX
  • Mapped the claims intake process end to end, found that 3 of 11 handoffs existed only to satisfy a control that had been retired in 2021, and specified their removal; average intake time fell from 6 days to 2.5.
  • Ran the requirements workshops for a change two of the three affected teams had already rejected once; the revised specification was approved with all three signing off.
  • Wrote the functional specification and UAT plan for the policy administration upgrade affecting 240 users, and led the UAT cycle across 6 weeks and 380 test cases.
  • Built the operations dashboard in Power BI that replaced four separately maintained spreadsheets, including reconciling the three different definitions of 'open claim' that had been in use.

Lonestar Benefits Administration · Plano, TX
  • Gathered and documented requirements for the member enrolment portal rebuild, working with 5 engineers over three releases.
  • Analysed 18 months of call-centre data and traced 31% of contacts to two specific ambiguities in the enrolment letter, which was rewritten as a result.
  • Maintained the requirements traceability matrix across a 9-month compliance project audited with no findings.

Summary

Graphic designer, 5 years across agency and in-house, mostly brand identity and consumer packaging. Comfortable owning a project from brief through prepress, and equally comfortable building the system that lets someone else produce the next forty pieces without me.

Experience

Marisol Foods · Miami, FL
  • Sole in-house designer for a brand with 40 SKUs across grocery and food service, reporting to the marketing director.

  • Manage prepress with three printers; no plate-level error has reached press since I took over file handoff.

Henrik Solberg
Mechanical Engineer · Consumer Hardware
henrik.solberg@example.com · (408) 555-0139 · San Jose, CA · linkedin.com/in/henriksolberg
Summary

Mechanical engineer, 7 years, consumer and industrial hardware taken to volume production. Injection moulding and sheet metal, mostly enclosures and mechanisms. I have been through enough tool trials to design for the ones I have not had yet.

Experience
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Jul 2022 – Present
Alta Devices Group · San Jose, CA
  • Owned the mechanical side of two products through NPI with an EE, a firmware engineer and an offshore contract manufacturer in a 13-hour time difference.
  • Designed a 12-part injection-moulded enclosure in 30% glass-filled nylon, 40K units a year, IP54 sealed; moved the parting line after the first tool trial showed flash on the sealing face, which cost 3 weeks and avoided a field failure mode we had not modelled.
  • Ran the tolerance stack-up that caught an interference between the battery door and the sealing gasket at worst case, before tooling was cut.
  • Reduced enclosure part count from 19 to 12 across a generation, cutting assembly time by about 40 seconds a unit and removing two fastener types from the BOM.
  • Led the drop-test programme, correlating FEA to physical results within 12% on deflection, and specified the rib change that brought the corner impact case within margin.
Mechanical Engineer
Aug 2019 – Jun 2022
Corbin Industrial Controls · Fremont, CA
  • Designed sheet metal enclosures and DIN-rail mounted assemblies for industrial control products, 2K–8K units a year.
  • Rewrote the drawing standard to full GD&T after a supplier dispute over a hole pattern that both parties had inspected as passing; supplier rejections dropped from about 6% to under 1%.
  • Supported field failure analysis on a thermal issue in a cabinet installation, traced it to an airflow assumption in the original spec, and designed the retrofit baffle deployed to 300 units.

Noor Haddad
Information Systems Student · Seeking Data or Operations Role
noor.haddad@example.com · (801) 555-0117 · Salt Lake City, UT · github.com/noorhaddad
Summary

Information systems student graduating May 2027, looking for a data or operations role. No professional experience yet. What I do have: a registration tool I built that is in real use on campus, 18 months of steady volunteer work at a front desk, and enough SQL to be useful in the first week rather than the first month.

Education
B.S. Information Systems, expected May 2027
2023 – 2027
University of Utah · Salt Lake City, UT
  • Relevant coursework: Database Systems, Statistics, Data Structures. GPA 3.6.
Projects
Campus Bike Registry
https://github.com/noorhaddad/bike-registry
  • Built and ran a bike registration tool the campus police department now uses; 380 bikes registered in the first semester and 6 recovered thefts matched through it.
  • Wrote the intake form, the lookup interface and the weekly report the department asked for after the first month.
  • The hard part was not the code — it was three meetings with the department to work out what they would actually check against.
Course project: campus dining wait times
  • Four-person course project; I built the database layer and wrote the final report. Collected two weeks of observations and found queue length was driven by register count rather than the menu changes the dining service had been adjusting.
Experience
Front Desk Volunteer
Jan 2024 – Present
Wasatch Community Health Clinic · Salt Lake City, UT
  • 6 hours a week for 18 months: check in 40–60 visitors a shift and handle the intake paperwork.
  • Trained two newer volunteers on the check-in process and the questions worth asking before someone reaches the nurse.
  • Arabic-language interpretation for patients at intake, roughly two or three times a shift.
Barista (part-time, term-time)
Sep 2023 – Aug 2024
Ninth South Coffee · Salt Lake City, UT
  • Morning shifts serving 120–150 customers, opened the store three days a week including cash reconciliation.
Skills
Technical: SQL, Python (basic), Excel including pivot tables, Git
Working: Written reporting, intake and records accuracy, front-desk customer interaction
Languages: English and Arabic, fluent in both
